Before coming to Christ, you may have felt powerless, hopeless and weak. Our creator, Father God, loved us so much, that He sent His only son Jesus to earth as a baby. (John 3:16) For 33 yrs, Jesus walked the earth as a human. Just like us! He loved, laughed and cried. He felt joy and pain. Then He did something that only He could do. He took our sins upon Himself, endured a painful death on the cross, and then rose from the grave! Through His death and resurrection, we have been given new life.
When Jesus left this earth, He returned to His Father’s side. Then He sent His best friend, Holy Spirit, to earth as a gift to us. Holy Spirit wants to be your best friend too.
Through the Holy Spirit, God’s love has been poured into our hearts.
Romans 5:5
If you allow Him to, He will fill your heart so full of joy, that you will want nothing more than to spread the good news you have received. When Holy Spirit is your best friend, He will guide you in the decisions you make and the words that you say.
You may feel like Holy Spirit has never spoken to you. Have you ever had a great idea? Most likely it was Holy Spirit who placed the thought or idea in your mind. Have you ever felt an urging in your spirit that says, don’t go that way, only to find out that you avoided being in an accident by taking another route? If you are a child of God, then Holy Spirit lives inside of you! He’s just waiting for you to welcome Him into your daily life and the decisions you make.
The next time you loose your keys, purse, hat or maybe your shoes, ask Holy Spirit to help you find them. You’ll be surprised how much faster you find what you’ve been looking for. As a mom, I’m so thankful for Holy Spirit. James 1:5 tells us that if we ask for wisdom, it will be given to us. It’s amazing to me how much easier life can be when I keep in tune with Holy Spirit for every decision I make as a mom. I can honestly say, “He’s NEVER let me down!”
Seems too simple doesn’t it? Satan likes to make us think that the ways of the Lord are hard and impossible to obtain. The promises of God are yes and amen! All we need to do is ask for help. He will help us EVERY-SINGLE-TIME! Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly! (John 10:10) Just remember God’s promise in Luke 11:9, “Ask, and you WILL receive!”
